East West International views HSE as a shared responsibility. All employees and contractors are expected to uphold our policies and contribute to a safe, secure, and environmentally conscious workplace. Through leadership commitment, employee engagement, and strong operational controls, we are focused on achieving our HSE goals and setting high standards for excellence in everything we do.

At East West International, the health and wellbeing of our workforce is fundamental to our operational success. We recognize that occupational health is not just a compliance requirement but a moral and strategic responsibility. It is essential for productivity, resilience, and long-term sustainability.

Our Health Management initiatives are guided directly by senior leadership and embedded across all departments. We proactively assess and address health risks associated with industrial environments, remote worksites, and high-demand logistics operations. This includes both physical and mental health considerations, with structured programs to minimize exposure to harmful substances, reduce ergonomic strain, and support psychological wellness.

Key elements of our Occupational Health Strategy include:

  • Pre-Employment and Periodic Health Assessments
Ensuring fitness to work through comprehensive medical evaluations based on job roles and risk levels.
  • Workplace Hygiene and Exposure Control
Implementation of controls for noise, dust, chemical handling, and temperature extremes, particularly in energy, defense, and marine supply chains.
  • Health Surveillance and Monitoring
Regular monitoring for early detection of occupational illnesses or signs of long-term exposure to hazardous conditions.
  • Emergency Medical Preparedness
Site-specific response planning with first aid facilities, evacuation protocols, and medical support at all project sites.
  • Wellbeing Programs
Initiatives such as stress management workshops, hydration campaigns, vaccination drives, and access to mental health support.

By integrating these elements into every aspect of our operations, we foster a health-first culture that protects our employees, strengthens stakeholder trust, and upholds our commitment to global HSE excellence.

At East West International, safety is a core value that shapes every aspect of our work. We are committed to providing a secure and hazard-free environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors across every project and facility we operate. Our objective is to create a culture where safety is not just a requirement but a shared responsibility.

We implement a structured Safety Management System aligned with international standards and client-specific expectations. From leadership to site-level personnel, everyone is expected to follow safety protocols, report hazards, and actively participate in maintaining a safe workplace.

Our approach to safety includes the following key principles:

  • Commitment to a Safe Work Culture
Every employee, regardless of position, is responsible for their own safety and that of others. This shared accountability is reinforced through clear policies and a strong code of conduct.
  • Compliance with Regulations
All activities are carried out in full accordance with local, national, and international HSE laws and standards. We regularly review updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Preventive Risk Management
We identify and eliminate unsafe practices by conducting continuous inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments. Any incidents or near-misses are thoroughly investigated to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Awareness
Ongoing safety education is provided to all staff. Regular toolbox talks, safety drills, and role-specific training ensure that best practices are well understood and consistently applied.
  • Clean and Controlled Work Environments
We enforce high standards for site cleanliness, proper equipment handling, and secure storage of materials to reduce the risk of accidents.
  • Emergency Preparedness
Each site is equipped with clearly defined emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and trained response teams to handle any crisis effectively.
  • Employee Wellbeing and Support
Medical support, on-site welfare provisions, and accessible grievance channels ensure that health and safety go hand in hand with morale and rights.

At East West International, we believe that achieving zero incidents is not just a goal but an expectation. By continuously improving our systems and engaging our workforce, we uphold the highest safety standards and deliver projects that protect both people and assets.

East West International is committed to conducting its operations in a way that respects and protects the environment. We recognize that our activities, products, and services have the potential to impact natural resources, and we take proactive steps to minimize that impact through responsible environmental management.

Our leadership is fully dedicated to complying with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards. However, our commitment does not end with compliance. We aim to exceed minimum legal requirements by adopting practices that support sustainability, pollution prevention, and continuous environmental improvement.

Key components of our Environmental Policy include:

  • Compliance and Beyond
We ensure adherence to all environmental legislation and client-specific guidelines, treating regulatory compliance as the foundation for stronger environmental performance.
  • Pollution Prevention and Waste Reduction
Operational plans are designed to reduce emissions, prevent contamination, and minimize waste generation. We actively promote recycling and the responsible handling of hazardous materials.
  • Resource Allocation and Awareness
Adequate time, staffing, and financial resources are allocated to support environmental objectives. We also deliver regular training and awareness programs to ensure that all employees and subcontractors understand their environmental responsibilities.
  • Sustainable Practices Across Operations
From procurement to logistics, we integrate sustainability into our workflows by selecting eco-efficient materials, optimizing transportation, and reducing energy consumption wherever possible.
  • Shared Responsibility Across Stakeholders
Everyone working with or on behalf of East West International, including suppliers, subcontractors, and visitors, is expected to contribute to our environmental goals through mindful practices and adherence to procedures.
  • Transparency and Engagement
Environmental guidelines are shared openly with all staff and interested parties. Our policy is displayed at our offices and project sites, reinforcing our environmental values at every level.

Through consistent action and long-term planning, East West International strives to reduce environmental impact while supporting the global shift toward a more sustainable and resilient future.

East West International follows a structured and responsible approach to managing waste across all project locations. Effective waste management is critical to maintaining environmental integrity, ensuring worker safety, and meeting client and regulatory expectations.

All waste generated during construction and operational activities is systematically segregated according to material type. Designated categories help streamline handling, transportation, and disposal in accordance with environmental best practices and client requirements.

Waste Segregation Categories
Waste materials are sorted into the following primary categories:

  •    Recyclable Waste
Includes paper, cardboard, wood, metals, and plastics that can be processed and reused.
  •    Domestic Waste
General waste generated from living quarters or kitchens, classified into multiple subtypes for effective sorting and disposal.
  •    Hazardous Waste
Includes contaminated soil, chemical residues, oily rags, or other materials deemed dangerous under regulatory definitions. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is maintained for all hazardous substances on site, along with a comprehensive inventory.
  •    Construction and Demolition Debris
Covers materials such as concrete, bricks, excess soil, and other debris arising from excavation, demolition, or installation activities.

Handling and Disposal Procedures

  • All waste is clearly labelled in English and stored in designated areas with appropriate signage. Hazardous waste is handled with special care and transported only by certified contractors to approved treatment or disposal facilities.
  • Liquid effluents generated on site are collected and disposed of through approved waste management providers, ensuring that no untreated discharge enters the environment.
  • Site-Level Waste Management - Each project maintains a waste register, monitoring volumes and types of waste generated. This allows for better planning, improved recycling rates, and alignment with sustainability targets.

At East West International, our aim is to minimize waste generation at the source, encourage reuse and recycling, and ensure that all remaining waste is managed safely, legally, and responsibly.
